Store food in locked containers
Pantries are paradise for rodents. These critterswill eat most food items, including the cardboard boxes they're often stored inside! Make sure packages are not left on the floor and flour and grains are stored in tins or firm plastic containers that are difficult to open. Don’t leave crumbs or scrapes on the ground because mice and rats will surely follow the trail and help themselves to this treasure trove when you are not around.
Dust down your attic for fresher air throughout your house
It is just as important to dust off your attic as it is the rest of the house. By keeping this area clean you'll prevent dust particles from permeating into other areas of your home. If it's already been a long time, call our experts and have it cleaned by the professionals.
Replace damaged attic insulation
It depends on your type of insulation. If your attic insulation is comprised mostly of fiberglass or cellulose, it probably needs to be replaced because they are both absorbent and when soaked with water, they don't work effectively again even when dried out. However, if your insulation is made from steel wool or a polyurethane compound, it can usually be dried out and still retain its insulating capability. Check with our specialists for advice when you have damage to your attic insulation.
Insulate your attic
Installing attic insulation can drastically reduce your home's energy bills and make your living spaces much more comfortable. Because heat rises, installing a secure barrier between your ceiling and attic slows the migration of heat from your living spaces to your attic. This makes your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter and allows your HVAC system to operate much more efficiently.
